Britannica Online is a full-text online version of the Encyclopaedia
Britannica. It includes the complete encyclopedia, as well a dictionary,
with hot links to more than 130,000 web sites that have been selected,
rated, and reviewed by Britannica editors.
Britannica Online contains more than 72,000 articles; over 10,000
illustrations, including photographs, drawings, maps, and flags;
and more than 75,000 definitions--including pronunciation guides
and word histories--from Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.
Webster's Third New International Dictionary
This online dictionary contains nearly a half-million entries. It
also has comprehensive coverage of pronunciations, word origins,
and biographical and geographical names. There are thousands of
examples of words used in context, plus synonym and usage paragraphs
that clarify how words are used.
Annals of American History
Documents include historical accounts, speeches, memoirs, poems,
editorials, and cultural criticism. Media in the Annals consists of over 500 pictures, hundreds of video clips, and audio
of famous speeches capturing a significant speeches and moments
