American National Biography provides a biographical portrait of America's history. Published under the auspices of the American Council of Learned Societies, the ANB is comprised of over 17,000 original biographies written by distinguished scholars and writers. ANB Online is updated regularly to incorporate new facts and interpretations, and includes all 24 volumes of the print edition, with 100 or more new biographies added every three months. Nearly 2,000 illustrations from the Library of Congress are included in the database.

Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (DNB) provides a biographical portrait of the British Isles from the earliest time to the end of the year 2000. The DNB is comprised of over 55,000 biographies written by distinguished scholars and writers. DNB Online includes all 60 volumes of the print edition, with over 10,000 illustrations.

Oxford English Dictionary
The Oxford English Dictionary is a guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, both present and past. It traces the usage of words through 2.5 million quotations from a wide range of international English language sources, from classic literature and specialist periodicals to film scripts and cookery books.

The OED covers words from across the English-speaking world, from North America to South Africa, from Australia and New Zealand to the Caribbean. It also offers the best in etymological analysis and in listing of variant spellings, and it shows pronunciation using the International Phonetic Alphabet.

The Oxford Reference Online brings together 100 well-known and trusted dictionaries and reference books – containing well over 60,000 pages --, plus an Encyclopedia, into a single cross-searchable web database.

Oxford Scholarship Online
Oxford Scholarship Online (OSO) is a discipline-based web site that will facilitate the online publication of scholarly work in the humanities and social sciences. OSO features Oxford books in four distinct disciplines: Economics & Finance, Political Science, Religion, and Philosophy. Each subject collection in OSO consists of a ‘core’ of OUP’s key published scholarly books, approximately 150 to 200 titles in each, with an additional 200 titles added to the full collection each year. Campuses may subscribe to selected modules or to the entire collection.

Grove's Dictionary of Art Online
The Grove Dictionary of Art contains 45,000 articles on every aspect of the visual arts painting, sculpture, graphic arts, architecture, decorative arts and photography from prehistory to the present day. Compiled over a period of 15 years, it represents the work of more than 6,800 scholars from around the world, each writing on his or her own specialist field of study. The dictionary contains links to over 100,000 images of painting, sculpture, architecture and the decorative arts not available elsewhere on the web through a collaboration with the Bridgeman Art Library.

Grove's Dictionary of Music Online
The Grove Dictionary of Music & Musicians, available in an electronic format as well as print, is a major reference resource for music research. It includes biographical and topical information, bibliographies, and works lists for all types of music.
